Privacy Policy

Sheel ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Sheel mobile application (the "Customer App") and the Sheel Admin mobile application (the "Merchant App"). This page tells you how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use either app.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly:

Name When placing an order or registering as a merchant.
Phone number For order contact and delivery coordination.
Email address For merchant account registration and notifications.
Delivery address When you choose delivery as your order type.
Car plate number When you choose car pickup as your order type.
Order details Items, quantities, special instructions, and payment totals.

We also collect information automatically:

Device identifiers Firebase assigns an anonymous ID to each device to enable real-time order tracking and push notifications.
Approximate location Only when you use the "detect my location" feature for delivery addresses. We do not track location in the background.
Usage data Which screens you visit, crash reports, and performance data, collected through Firebase Analytics.

2. How We Use Your Information

To process and fulfil your food orders.
To send you order status updates via push notifications.
To allow merchants to manage their menus, orders, and branches.
To diagnose crashes and improve app performance.
To contact you if there is a problem with your order.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only as necessary:

With the restaurant / merchant — your name, phone, order details, and delivery address are shared with the merchant fulfilling your order.
With Firebase (Google) — we use Firebase Firestore, Authentication, Cloud Messaging, and Analytics. Google's privacy policy applies: policies.google.com/privacy.
With our email provider (Resend) — order notifications and merchant welcome emails are sent via Resend. Only the necessary recipient email and order content are shared.

4. Data Retention

Order data is stored in Firebase Firestore and retained for as long as the merchant's account is active. Anonymous customer sessions are retained for 90 days of inactivity before being automatically deleted by Firebase Auth.

5. Your Rights & Account Deletion

You can permanently delete your account and all associated data directly from within the Customer App at any time: open Settings → Personal Information → Delete Account. Deleting your account immediately removes your profile, saved addresses, saved cars, favorites, and sign-in credentials from our systems.

You may also request deletion of your personal data by contacting us at the email below. We will process such requests within 30 days.

6. Children's Privacy

Our apps are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

7. Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS. Firebase enforces security rules so that each user can only access their own data. Merchant accounts are protected by email/password authentication.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
